Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has declared that his administration has zero tolerance for miscreants and touts collecting illegal revenue in the state.
Soludo stated this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after he paid a private visit to the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
The governor, who described Anambra as one of the safest states in the country, reiterated the commitment of his administration to guarantee the safety of lives and property.
According to him: “Anambra is very calm. I can tell you it should certainly be one of the top three in terms of the safety of lives and property.
“Security, law, and order are our priorities; we don’t condone touting and all these people collecting illegal revenue and trying to extort and expropriate innocent people.
“Anambra is a home of commerce, and we don’t want people harassing others who come in; we have zero tolerance for that kind of miscreant.
“We have a message for them: if you need a job, just come out. We give you training and we have some start-up funds for you to begin afresh and take on a new life.”
