Akwa United halted their eight-game winless streak following a 2-1 victory over Enyimba at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday.
Jacob Ogunleye gave Akwa United the lead in the 26th minute, while Issah Mohammed equalised for Enyimba six minutes before the break.
Uche Sabastine scored the winning goal for Akwa United 15 minutes from time.
At the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers United recorded a slim 1-0 win over Lobi Stars.
