Govoveenor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has urged National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members posted to the state to seize the opportunity to maximise their potential to become entrepreneurs.
Yahaya made the call on Tuesday while declaring open the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation exercise at the temporary orientation camp in the Amada community of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Represented by his commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Inuwa Ibrahim, Yahaya stated that the state had all that corps members needed in terms of business environment to achieve their potential.
According to him, the state has a lot of potential in business and entrepreneurship that they could harness to make themselves employers of labour.
“Gombe is a cosmopolitan state known for promoting peace and harmony, business and enterprise with rich cultural diversity and abundant agricultural produce.
“The above has helped promote business ideas for anyone who wants to settle and make a living while contributing to the growth and development of the state and country.
“Welcome to Gombe State; we are peaceful and receptive in nature.
“As a youth, you have an enabling environment to maximise your potential and achieve your dreams in life,” he said.
The governor also urged the NYSC members to seize the opportunity of serving in the state to strengthen the bond of unity in the country.
“Be reminded that the future of the country lies in your hands as leaders of tomorrow, so you have a significant role to play in shaping our corporate destiny,” he added.
