The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the posting and redeployment of forty (40) Senior Police Officers.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Force Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the senior officers comprised 14 Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 26 Commissioners of Police to various Commands and Formations in the country.
The statement said the posting and redeployment is with immediate effect and in line with the IGP’s mandate to have a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law compliant, and people-friendly Police Force.
It added that the redeployment of the senior police officers reflects the new status of senior officers recently elevated to their next ranks.
Egbetokun, therefore, urged the newly posted/redeployed officers to work in tandem with the Force policy and support the government’s agenda for economic recovery and growth in the country’s socio-political development.
While stressing the importance of entrenching professionalism and diligent policing services to all officers and men in their commands, the IGP called on the police officers to partner with all relevant stakeholders to bring policing closer to the people.
