Former Belgium international Radja Nainggolan was arrested by Brussels police on Monday morning as part of an investigation into cocaine trafficking from South America to Europe.
Authorities revealed that the network used the port of Antwerp to smuggle drugs into the continent.
Police arrested several suspects, including the footballer, after carrying out a series of morning raids across the country, the office told AFP.
