Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted to Peter Obi’s rejection of the decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the election of President Bola Tinubu.
It was earlier reported that Obi rejected the ruling of the apex court on his appeal against the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), which affirmed Tinubu’s election.
The LP presidential candidate, while addressing a World Press Conference on Monday in Abuja, described the Supreme Court judgment as a breach of the citizens’ trust in the judiciary.
Obi accused the apex court of ignoring evidence which he said further dampens citizens’ trust in the judiciary.
Reacting in a post via his X handle, Ahmad queried Obi’s next line of action after rejecting the ruling of the apex court.

He wrote: “Wait, I just read that Peter Obi has rejected the Supreme Court’s decision upholding President Bola Tinubu’s election. During his ‘world press conference,’ Obi believes the court’s verdict does not align with the principles of the constitution. Those close to Mr. Peter should please help us ask him what’s the next step from here. Appealing the Supreme Court judgement?”
