824 NYSC members register in Borno for 2023 Batch C Stream One orientation exercise

Eight hundred and twenty four members of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) have been registered for the 2023 batch C stream one orientation course in Borno state.

Out of this number, 489 are males while 335 of them are females.

This was revealed on Tuesday by the State Coordinator of the scheme Mohammed Diyang while welcoming new Corp members to the state for their one year service to the nation.

Diyang said that he was excited that this was the second in the series of orientation programs in Borno after about twelve years of hosting the event in other states.

He revealed that very soon all orientation programs will moved to the permanent camp because repair work will soon commence to fix most of the facilities affected after a long occupation by internally displaced people.

The coordinator further commended Governor Babagana Zulum for his commitment to the welfare of the scheme since he assumed duty in the state.

According to him, more than 80 per cent of corp members are accommodated in lodges provided by the government in the state.

Diange equally commended the military, represented by the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, for the maintenance of security within the confines of the temporary location of the scheme.

Remarking too, Board Chairman, Musa Bulama, commended the zeal and patriotism of the Corp members especially in committing themselves to the one month activity in camp.

He advised them to avoid anything that would tarnish their image, because, according to him, the destiny of the nation lies on them.

” I want to ask you all to resist the temptation of redeploying to another state because of the enormous opportunities that abound here for you,” he told the Corp members.

Zulum, who was represented by the Head of Service, Barrister Mallam Fannami, called on the Corp members to be responsible and dedicated to the program.
